Ohio Lawmaker Wants Two New Airport Hubs

提交時間:

Southwest Ohio Rep. Jim Butler wants to build airports at I-71 near Xenia and on I-80 just north of Ravenna. He says Ohio has the population to support hubs like Dallas/Ft. Worth and Atlanta have, but none of Ohio’s existing airports are within an hour’s drive of 3.5 million people, which he says a regional hub needs to be profitable. (wksu.org) 更多...

this guy is just a bit outside, to quote bob euker.. There is population there, but not flight demand enough to justify either one or both of these fairy tale halucinations. With the range capabilities of current airliners, with historical hubs- Cleveland, cincinati, pittsburg, - these relics vanished as airlines merged and mixed their fleets. No current airline needs a pitstop in ohio now or anytime soon. Dallas and Atlanta have over a thousand operations daily, so where exactly are these flights coming from and going from that land in onio?

Well Cincinnati and has been going away as a major hub so this is almost pointless here

I suspect he's willing to put your money where his mouth is.
Check his contributors - there may be something.

He was smoking something while watching Feild of Dreams. If I build it they will come. Nope.

Another political pipe dream. Airlines set the hubs, not State Legislators.
