Reuters: Mitsubishi Heavy in talks to buy Bombardier’s CRJ program

The breakup of Bombardier continues. From Reuters: Japan’s Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd, which has been developing its own regional jet program, said on Wednesday it was in talks to buy Bombardier Inc’s CRJ aircraft business. The comment followed a report by Air Current that Mitsubishi Heavy was in advanced negotiations with Bombardier and that an announcement could come as soon as the Paris Air Show, which starts June 17, if a deal is finalised. Mitsubishi´s Regional Jet started its development about 10 years ago and it is still not a fully reliable airliner needing more and more testing so if the Japanese firm decided to acquire Bombardier´s RJ division suggests that they are going to drop their RJ line and rather go ahead with the successful linep up of Canadian jets.

Very interesting news... Now parts will have to ship from Japan.... Speaking about extended AOG!!! I hope if they do that they will keep them in Canada!
