Isn't corporate greed a wonderful thing. The hell with the customer, I want a bigger bonus!

Well, if stop flying on them, it will eventually send a message. It also helps if real travel journalists would write about it in the major newspapers.

If you do it wont send anything but if many others do then it would along with letters to the management
Since many of those who write about travel probably get free tickets from most airlines and they don't sit in the back of the bus they could care less. And to write about it would spell the end of a free ride.

There are no more free tickets for writers. They pay their own way or their newspapers pay it for them. Quarter fare is what industry agents (not writers) used to pay.

Unfortunately, I do not have a choice about flying. My wallet wont let me travel business or economy, and my employer only allows for economy class seating.

My son and his wife flew a few days ago from Bogotá, Colombia on an Avianca AB 330 Business to Barcelona, Spain; simply great in all aspects, and a few days later they flew from Heahrow to Bogota on an Avianca 787 Economy and it was very very uncomfortable. I challenge anyone to say that his/her experience on Economy with any airllne in the world was a pleasant experience a long flights +10 hours.

I fly several times a year - mainly for pleasure. In the U.S. there are several airlines that I avoid if at all possible because of uncomfortable seating. I'm 6'4" (no fault of my own) and in some steerage seats, my knees contact the seat frame in front of me. In addition, if the aircraft has LCD screens in the seatbacks, the distance from the end of my (normal-sized) nose to the screen is 9 inches. The screen cannot be turned off so the annoying advertising is constantly flickering in your eyes. From my experience, the "best" (least-worst) seating is on Southwest and Alaska, the worst by far is United and i avoid them like the plague.
I've been told to pay for extra room - exit row - but those seats are always taken when attempting to purchase tickets. First class is absurdly expensive and essentially double a normal rate. So I vote with my wallet, but no is listening.
