Airbus A380 Makes Maiden Flight (2005)
Airbus CEO Fabrice Brégier recently said something very honest about the Airbus A380. In his opinion the aircraft was “almost certainly introduced ten years too early.” If Airbus had progressed with Brégier-defined pace, the aircraft would have flown for the first time this year, but in reality it did ten years ago on April 27. Yes I have, often in an A380, and it's notable that Emirates Airline is highly profitable, with a US$1 billion bottom line for 2013-4. But is this due to their fleet of A380s or in spite of it?
It would be interesting to see if they really are or if its propped up by them. Reality is a very different thing. What is there passenger count on those AC? What is there actual profits? Many questions due to who is supporting that airline.

In the Annual Report for 2013-4, they report 80% seat factor across the fleet, but I couldn't find a break-down by aircraft type. They also have the biggest B777 fleet.

If I am not mistaken, are most of their 777's cargo versions?

Ever been to Dubai - when you are snow skiing and its 101F outside it is really surreal. Waste not, want not I guess. But, for that money I bet they could fly every one in the country to the Alps.
Actually there during first Gulf War. Interesting country, but I wouldn't want to live - full time - that is.
