India may buy 6 Airbus aircraft for AWACS

India is likely to place orders worth ₹20,000 crore with Airbus to buy six A330 aircraft to mount the indigenously-built Airborne Warning and Control Systems (AWACS). It appears India is paying 173% of list price (assuming they are purchasing the highest cost A330) for an airframe conversion base.
