Investigators in 777 crash looking at fuel systems
Investigators studying last week's crash landing of a British Airways Boeing 777 said they are looking closely at the possibility that the accident was caused by an interruption in the flow of jet fuel to the engines, possibly due to fuel contamination. They are also looking at the electronic links between the throttle quadrant and the engines, however I find this problem highly unlikely as both engines are run off totally different electrical systems to stop something like this happening
Even fuel contamination would not block the engines at relatively the same time. While the tanks are lower in the landing phase of flight, they aren't scrapping the bottom of the barrel where contaminants may be more prevalent.
