Plane returns to Philly airport after tire bursts

I'm sure there is a good explanation, but I have always been curious, why not continue to the destination and perform the emergency landing there? It is just a blown tire.
Because tire debris can get thrown up into the bottom of the aircraft and wings, punch a few holes in fuel tanks in the process, etc. This is exactly what happened to the Concorde in Paris, the tire blew, a piece came off and punched a hole in a fuel tank, fuel sprayed out and caught the afterburners...
