Modified Cessna is the 'largest' electric aircraft to take flight
Electric aircraft are ever so slightly closer to becoming a practical reality for travel. Magnix and AeroTEC have flown what they say is the world’s largest all-electric aircraft. Their modified Cessna 208B Grand Caravan, the “eCaravan,” flew for 30 minutes around Washington state’s Grand County International Airport using Magnix’s 750HP Magni500 motor instead of the usual turboprop engine. It even gets worse reading the artical, 100mi range with only five people? And they are hoping for nine? And still only 100mi as short haul is going to be the target? Ok so now you go that 100mi and how long is it going to sit on the ground recharging? So like when I commented on the Beaver to them they didnt care for facts that I posted on there which were true.

Stupid news release its GRANT COUNTY Airport in Moses Lake WA the former Larson Airforce base. And on another note as usual its only able to fly a short time, has virtually no payload just like the electric Beaver up in Canada. Travel with them is going to be short and very little payload due to battery load. True worthwhile flight is a long way off. Most of this is venture capital driven.
I suspect your great-grandfather similarly criticized the Wright brother’s early attempts at powered flight, how their airplane had no useful load and limited range, and that it would never lead to feasible air travel.
That’s the lot of pioneers in any field. Baby steps and finding solutions to problems, incremental improvements. They have to start somewhere.

Oh and those are 737Max aircraft stored by Boeing there saw them in Feb when I was in town.
