Airbus plans to replace A320neo with a hybrid jet

提交時間:

Airbus plans to replace its best selling single-aisle jet with a hybrid-electric aircraft in the future. The manufacturer aims to offer the world’s first hybrid jet to the market in 15 years. The European aircraft manufacturer thinks the planes powered by its new propulsion technology will be available around 2035. According to sources who know about the matter, Airbus would first produce a smaller aircraft and bring it to the same size as the A321neo overtime. This program and partnership between Airbus, Rolls-Royce and Siemens was announced back in 2017... Nothing new here. Sure the E-Fan X aircraft will reduce the combustion of fossil fuels, however, will it actually save a noticeable amount of fuel when compared to the modern ultra-efficient Pratt & Whitney PW1500G (GTF) which features on the new Airbus A220-100/300 aircraft? Is the added complexity of a hybrid propulsion system + additional weight + additional cost + (**potential**) additional maintenance worth it? The PW1500G provides a staggering 17-20% reduction in fuel burn when compared with the prior generation engines on the A320 aircraft, as well as being 75% quieter + reducing NOx emissions by 50%. Just my two cents. Airbus have been making aircraft for yonks now so I'll observe from afar. At the end of the day its the airlines who'll have to purchase these aircraft, not me...

Hybrid is a political word from those that think they can alter the natural processes of the earth by denying your rights to use natural resources as you please. They use sacrificial politicians (AOC) and "scientists" that could not score a teaching job in a high school to force this ajenda society.

Airbus is merely going along with the charade that electric passenger aircraft is somehow an advancement on the current art.

I suppose the natural resources you are referring to is crude oil? Lithium, nickel, cobalt, copper and silicon (just to name a few) are also natural resources - you've just got to rape the earth's surface and use a heap of energy to attain them. Algae is also a natural resource. Let's talk biofuel instead...
