Incident: British Airways B787 near London on Jan 8th 2015, engine shut down in flight

Once upon a time ago The Boeing 747B-100 was born in 1968 when it took to the skies for the first time? Boeing also nicked name this massive wide bodied aircraft by calling it the Jumbo Jet right?. Many books over the years came out and including Boeing's production list and they called there aircraft including many airlines who operated them the 747B-100 Whoever came up by shortening this by calling it the B741 B748 B787 should have looked into this before this happened. It confuses many of billions of people globally. So Tell me what is right? 747B or B747???
