It's not clear what process they are using, but has anyone given thought to iris scanning. Works fine and speeds clearance for highly secured military areas and in the UK for boarding passengers. You don't even have to take off your shoes and belt buckles.
we all have to remember that the TSA is a government jobs program. There will be little effort to streamline proceedure. Why, it would require less staff to operate the system. You can be sure the unionized rank and file fight any modernization.
This seems like a good idea. It will make pilots jobs a little stressful. And the security lines at KORD can be terrible, so it is a nice tool for them to have.

Richard is so right. Unions are merely a mechanism to launder other people's money to the Democrats. Hopefully, the next government will do exactly what Canada did and privatize the whole process.
Government's job should be no more than establish standards and ensure the application of those impositions, licenses etc is in accordance with Congress' directives. Enough of having these thugs inspecting and spilling colostomy bags...they should be required to sample the contents if they invade an individuals privacy to that point.
