Been a member since 2009 and this is my #1 go to site for flight data. I use it for flight simming and real world flights when travelling. FlightAware is tops!
Pics show damage on the LE slats. Good thing nothing penetrated the wing towards the fuel tanks. I could imagine this would have been much worse than one dead. You can hear on the ATC recording they had over 20,000lbs of fuel onboard. Heavy hearted thanks to all involved.
This is very sad news. I was able to visit this wonderful facility a few years ago and had a fantastic time. The amount of history and stories told there is amazing. Too bad for the employees losing jobs in a place they enjoyed. They seemed like family.
Michael, looks like gear was down and succumbed to extreme pressure and collapsed on impact. Check out Daily News page on the incident http://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/small-plane-emergency-landing-major-deegan-expressway-article-1.1566379
Lots of pics
