Well ya that’s true and usually the people upfront pay more for their tickets as well. Lol. But you said it best I would rather keep the nose heavy then risk damaging the tail when it struck the ground. Lol
I once observed a B727 without the ventral airstairs extended(assumed it was towed to the gate) started to go down by the tail while boarding. Unfortunately, the auto leveling on the bridge had been turned off and when the tail went down the bridge peeled 1L right off the hinges!
Lol oops. Hopefully nobody was hurt. Also I’m guessing someone got in trouble for that lol.
