McDonnell Douglas FA-18 Hornet (16-6776)
The VFA-31 "Tomcatters" CAG colorbird is about to land on NFL's 31L as it returns from an early afternoon training sortie.
The Tomcatters, the second oldest fighter squadron in the US Navy, are proudly celebrating their 85th anniversary (1935-2020). The words above "Felix the Cat" read, "Felix Stands The Watch."

"Felix" appears in two locations on this CAG bird. He is prominently in view on the tail, but he also appears on the fuselage just beneath the wing root.
Another great photo. With all these goodies right now, what are you gonna do for Christmas - grin!
Another beauty - all 5!
Gavin & Darryl ... Much appreciated, guys. We're having a "Spotters Get Together" here later this week. I'm hosting. Going to show them 15 or so locations around RNO and then some at other area airports. Then, it's my turn to go "on the road" for a photog's trip. I hope that someday you and I will be able to do the same. (Wave)
