Glad the old girl is back at work! Saw pics of her at Victorville and thought, , , , "OH NO ! ! ! So few left! ! !". To me, she has aged very well.
Nice shot of a great looking plane! It confuses the eyes these days to see a four engine aircraft like that.
Such a pretty airplane. When UPS still had 8's I see them departing KONT in a left climbing turn for Paradise VOR. Very impressive.
A real jet transport that was flown by me when i flew for Transamerica Airlines a few decades ago, sweet & easy to fly and steady as a train on a track going to minimums, the crew coffee was always top notch.

Used allllll the runway after refueling at Gander headed east with a full load in "72". I've always thought the stretched models were perfect.
@ David Ingram yea this bird is very long. and by us she used 3/4 for take off.
Beautiful aircraft. JFK-ZUR in Swissair DC8-62 university charter 1968. One-hour wait in taxiway behind long line.
