Didn't know Eastern Airlines had risen from the dead. When I last flew with them, they'd filed for Chapter 13 and hired a load of retired pilots and crew. As a 20-something, it was like flying with grand-dad's airlines. As we approached Miami, a huge roar was heard beneath the aircraft and when we hit the tarmac, over half of the oxygen masks fell down such was the force of the 'touchdown.' I've never been on a 747 that actually bounced off the runway before in my life. I later figured, the roar we all heard was a plane coming up underneath us, which probably explains why the pilot didn't show his face as the passengers disembarked from the plane. I imagine there were two pretty interesting reports filed that day... and not sure I want to be the crew assigned to his next flight either!

Don't book me a room in that hotel just in front on the landing path...
