Is this a prior U.S. Navy Neptune, or did the Japanese build their own version of it?
Alan Brown - Most all of the P-3 Orion types that are operated by Japan's Maritime Self Defense Force were license built in Japan by Kawasaki. There were allegedly 5 initial airframes assembled by Kawasaki from Lockheed built kits.
