ERCO Ercoupe (N552SM)
Steve first flight as PIC in Ercoupe, in front of our hangar at GRB before start-up.
Comments
ERCO, which designed and built the first Ercoupes started building Flight Simulators, including the earliest KC-135 sims (later referred to as Cockpit Procedures Trainer, CPT). In the '70's I worked on the Sim at Barksdale AFB and remember some of the structural parts had the 'ERCO' name on them.
No "wide body" anything aboard these. Uncle AL on Cincinnati TV had one of these.
What fun! Congrats, Steve!
Yes Sir...got a few hours in one of these "NO SPIN" sweeties! My dad left the lock on the sliding canopy once and wanted to open it so I could reach out and retrieve it! Well, being young and stupid I was to afraid to open it for I thought I would fall out. Wow, how time flies by. That must have been some45-50 years ago!
I thought the Mooney Aircoupe had just one vertical fin?
Way to go Patsy..........
A beautiful flying machine.
