Good view of Sun N' Fun, but it looks like fly-in attendance is way down from earlier years. Not so long ago the fly-in attracted scores of beautiful antique and classic restorations and large numbers of experimental kit planes. I can recall when Burt Rutan flew from Ca in one of his new canard designs. Today there may be some decline in this segment of aviation due to lingering economic pressures, but it seems that Sun N' Fun is purposefully becoming a vendor's showcase with an airshow thrown in to help justify the expense. Pretty steep price for an airshow, though. Two people for a single day's admission will easily spend $150 including a hot-dog and soda with flight line seating for the air show. At the end of the day, they'll leave with little more than sore feet and a sunburn. Oshkosh is the go-to event if you want more aviation bang for your buck. On the other hand, the Sun N' Fun organization is deeply committed to bringing serious, high-quality aviation education to motivated young people on a year-round basis. Their leadership in aviation education in cooperation with area schools deserves widespread attention and support.

Yeah, I agree.. It is pretty expensive, but we live in Tallahassee and it's too close not to go. Someday I would like to make the trek up to Oshkosh!
