FAA Readies For PAFI Unleaded Fuel Tests

The FAA says engine cell testing of one of three contenders actively being considered as a replacement for 100LL avgas will begin later this year at the agency’s William J. Hughes Technical Center in Atlantic City. You better stock up on some.. Maybe you can talk to Glade and see if they can make you a 100LL Glade Plug-In so you can continue to enjoy it! :)

Lots of people like the smell of Avgas. But to me I loves me the smell of JetA in the morning...

2 STC's already available... GAMI and SWIFT. Not sure which is going to be the best, but you will have to start with 1 and stick with it... Does not seem to be able (atleast at this point) to mix the different fuels.

GAMI can mix with conventional avgas. I would hope that all these replacement fuels can intermix. Though you'd have to understand the different additives and if they chemically interact.

That's not quite correct. One of the requirements of the unleaded fuel initiative is complete forward- and backward- compatibility - that means they must be able to mix easily even with 100LL.
