Delta CEO Is Right - Used Boeing 777-200s Are Worth Just $10 million, Expert Says

提交時間:

"I'll say just based on our understanding of the marketplace and what we understand from our customers, that number is the wrong order of magnitude," Mullenburg said. "And, frankly, the value of the 777 is holding up very well in the marketplace. It is a unique airplane. In that 365-seat category, there is no competing aircraft out there." If Boeing wants to buy them back at the $50M price, I'm sure DAL won't complain

Delta Air Lines Inc. Chief Executive Officer Richard Anderson said Boeing Co. executives offered him used wide-body jets for $10 million, defending his comment a month ago that he sees a bubble in long-haul planes.

The 777-200 is popular with everyone (except Airbus fans)! It is a beautiful, comfortable, fairly easy to fly, and very low operating cost. It's a win/win for everybody!

Except when they are 10-15 yrs old and start having problems.

Ok. Maybe then not so good. The 777 is still more reliable than competing aircraft.

Can you justify that statement? I reckon Airbus could challenge it.

There's been a rash of triple 7 failures - mainly engines in flight. Boeing makes the frame and RR, GE, et all make the engines - but these are all necessary components. Airbus has it's own set of problems because not a single country makes the entire jet, whereas Boeing does.
