Most of us on here have gone that extra mile, have a strong work ethic and have no use for some of the gimme programs that are out there. Our feeling is "the more you learn, the more you earn". I don't want anyone in the pointey end on account of their skin color or in ATC for that matter. It is ability that counts.
There has been a constant ad for approach controller trainees at the Class C airport near me. Only requirement is Iran/Iraq vet with NO experience. Why wouldn't they want experience?
The need to boost the number of "diverse" hires?
You forgot gender and sexual orientation which has been in play at the State Department for years...look what that is getting us.
Remember, an AT Controller never dies when they screw up, just pilots and passengers.
