In the 1970s I'd sit in my car in a parking area just across the street from McCoy in Orlando and watch the planes go right over my head! Now it's called OIA and there's a huge highway (528) where that spot was. I miss that time.
Hey y'all I just love reading comments on this site...I am old, salute to all the brave and talented pilots and support people in the profession. Dad would be 92 on March 6th 2019 if he was still kickin. He served in the USMC and finally got his private license after learning on a seaplane way back. He was blind in one eye but it did not stop him from flying private. He got his Cessna and kept it at Orlando Executive Airport (Herndon) but only got to fly for a few years. I miss you Dad. Happy Birthday.
