It is worth noting that the CFM-56 was a success story that was ten years in the making. At one time Curtiss-Wright thought the Turbo Compound was as good as it gets, and that jet engines were only an expensive toy. The only place reciprocating engines are now is in Alaska or remote areas. Give Boom a chance to succeed first.

She became the Queen of the skies, and never lost that title. The A380 is larger, but just because you can build bigger does not mean you have to. A tip of the hat to Joe Sutter and "The Incredibles" for making a dream come to life. Fair skies, and following winds always to this wonderful lady!

I remember seeing the 747 at ten years of age, and was immediately overwhelmed. I still am to this day. Joe Sutter and the "Incredibles" pulled off a huge feat of engineering, and steadily improved the initial product over the years. A tip of the hat to all past and present who still support this magnificent lady!

Ahh, more handwringing and whining from the eco-terrorist crowd. What if the Wright Bros. had listened to those who said if humans were meant to fly, they would have wings? I remember a celebrity who used to end his show with "Keep your feet on the ground, but keep reaching for the stars!" How true!

A tip of the hat to the crew for handling a "snake in the cockpit" Of course, our muck raking media made hay of the fact that it was a Boeing aircraft involved. They all need to find a real job instead of feeding on others misfortune.

I do not claim to be a genius, unlike MH370. You must own stock in Airbus or Generous Mother. I am merely pointing out that far to often the FAA has made serious missteps in their enforcement. Many times political influence is behind it. Of course our MS media is all to willing to pile on an American company, while giving a foreign company, with govt' subsidies a free pass. President Reagan was right when he stated the scariest words spoken are, "I am from the govt', and am here to help."

Just like NHTSA with the auto industry, the FAA is into more CYA mode. Bill Lear was correct when he said the FAA was the carbuncle on the backside of aviation! If "guvment" agencies and regulators would work with the industry, (what a novel idea) instead of against them, things would go a lot smoother. Any mass production product will have a glitch, so give Boeing credit for fixing the problem, not ignoring it, like GM.

I am still slightly surprised t those that have been around aviation for a while, still think that a company would purposely design a flawed airplane. Sadly, for the victims of Lionair and Ethiopian Air, were the end result of flawed maintenance and inadequate trainng. Or possibly, a huge mistake like Korean Air 007, and the Korean Air 747 that crashed into Nimitz Hill on Guam. The MAX is not, repeat not a flawed airliner. If it is flown by competent pilots, with the correct amount of training, not a dvd and a video conference tutorial.
