The good news is... nobody was injured except the pilot's pride and stature was tarnished a bit. In any case, let's all try to be better, safer, pilots and turn this negative into a positive helpful exercise. We know that the procedure to verify the airport that they used did not work. Can anyone tell me the best solution that we should implement so that it cannot occur again? This is the third wrong airport incident in 6 months and it could happen to most any of us? What say you?

The Eclipse is so advanced in instruments that only Airbus, Boeing, and Eclipse have the IS&S instrument panels (see http://www.innovative-ss.com/platforms/bymanufacturer.asp . Eclipse has one of the few I-FMS systems. (Intergraded with all Nav/Computer systems) most other mfgs lack because they are Model Ts. It is like comparing a Lexus to Yugo the Eclipse is the Lexus. Pottys are seldom used on small jets; however if you want one Eclipse can install it for you. The Total Eclipse 500 sells for $2.15M. Buy two Total Eclipse 500s for one Phenom and did I mention the Eclipse has six seats and can fly 1250kmi trip with IFR reserves at much lower fuel consumption than any other jet ever made at 41,000. Eclipse flys above the weather while the turbos flys in the weather.

Great day for Eclipse Aerospace Inc as the Dream Lives On: I am the proud owner of an Eclipse 500 that I purchased in July of 2008. Eclipse is a pilots dream to fly and has the lowest maintenance of any jet ever produced with inspections required only every 300 hrs. or 2 years. There is nothing to lube on the airframe. The Auto-Throttles will make the jet complete as they are built in to all of Eclipse jets but Eclipse needs to get FAA approval to turn them on. Eclipse is the only Very Light Jet able to climb directly to 41,000 at gross wt on the hottest day of the year while burning only 60 gallons per hour (average) for the trip. The Eclipse jet is more fuel efficient than a Mustang, TBM, or PC12 while flying at almost 100k faster speed than the turboprops. No other jet aircraft is even close to that performance. Eclipse is 30k faster than the Mustang and burns approx: 30% less fuel caring virtually the same weight. I will race any Mustang anytime for any distance and win
