Did I read that correctly? Boeing pays the salaries of the FAA Engineers who monitor the process? Surely that is outrageous.

It should be the job of government to regulate the size of seats. Reclining seats are pretty pointless anyway. I had the good luck to fly long haul on a half empty aircraft. For the first time I fully reclined my seat as there was nobody behind me. I was amazed that just a few degrees and that was that, yet those few degrees steal space from the person behind. On one flight, I found I couldn't focus on the in flight entertainment screen - yes I wear glasses- because the person in front reclined. It's ridiculous.

A Tragic accident and condolences to all those who have lost their loved ones. News Media in the States reporting this was a World War II era fighter. If that had been accurate it would have been a shorter war.

I'd be interested to hear from the professionals whether they would have hit the TOGA button and gone for a second attempt? Also like to see footage of previous landing to see if this was a sudden event.

Very true. I can't understand why there is no warning light or annunciation of an unlocked door that has on a number of occasions caused a problem.

If this was a car, we'd call it a Lemon. Generator failure and engine oil leak within 2 days. BA aren't known for poor maintenance that I know of.

Looking at the altitude graph, they never exceeded 10,000 feet. Would this be the reason they didn't deploy? I would guess that with no loss of pressurization, manual deployment would be the only way.

Wow! Descended at a whole 500 feet per minute. That must have been like a roller coaster ride, I don't think. A low altitude or a lower altitude, facts facts facts. Double reverse thrust on one engine??? What on earth is that? Are one engine landings even permitted to use reverse thrust? I gather the press in the USA can hide behind the constitution when they print fairy stories as if they are fact. I like the ones about the British Royal Family. Dutchess of Cambridge is pregnant. DoC is pregnant with twins. ... Hang on folks, what are we going to do when 9 months is up ,,,, DoC distraught at miscarraige. Give us a break.

I like to believe that the folks in the front are calm rational people who don't make mistakes because they follow the procedures laid down to ensure safety. Whoever this was on the radio needs to be sent for serious anger control training. Everyone address him as the Captain, but surely 1st Officers are more likely to be on the Radio?
