Wonderful news! If they want something up for the business people, put up Bloomberg. Or maybe half Bloomberg and half something for kids to watch.

Man, I feel old thinking back to when I worked with VMFA-314 back aboard the Coral Sea as part of CVW-13 back in the mid-80s when they were flying Hornets.

Not only a testament to his flying skills, but what an aircraft! I believe that type of malfunction would've torn apart the average "high-tech" fighter, and likely killed the pilot before he could even think to eject.

Hopefully we'll be able to see them with the new a/c next year. I've been watching the Angles since their F-4 days and was working at NAS Cecil Field (KVQQ) when they transitioned from the A-4 to the F/A-18.

I've flown in one three times. Once as a child on a PanAm (747-100 or maybe a -200) flight from JFK to BCN (I think it was 1972), and then again both times crossing the pond in 2000 on Virgin Atlantic (747-400). I really enjoyed it every time.

I was living in Seattle when Boeing decided to open the plant in Charleston. From everything that was reported out there, it really seemed like management wanted to keep all the assembly in Everett, but the union forced their hand. Now, it makes perfect sense to consolidate into a single plant, and Charleston is a much smarter move from a business perspective.

I live right under the approach to 23L. It's always cool to see the 747s, MD-11s, 767s, et al flying overhead.

They're probably coming from a training squadron. That's what they did when they went to them back in the 80s. They picked up single-seat (except for a couple of two-seaters) from VFA-106. So, not "new" aircraft, but not a conversion. You can't convert a "C" to an "E". There are significant airframe changes.
