Here come those cramped, hot, stuffy connecting flights with half the pax trying to yell over each other on their phones.

sorry to state the obvious, but maybe they were trying to skirt around a storm.

Don't you hate it when the pic is better quality than real life

I'm actually surprised that they got the fact that it was flying under Republic, but when they called the runway a road, my expectations were restored.

The sad thing is you're probably right. Watch the $25 laptop usage fee and $15 smartphone and tablet fees take flight. Oh the airlines are gonna get a kick out of this.

"It just went 'boom' and then ... I doubt the engine exploded, it was probably The engine coughing out and then dying. as for the sparks flying everywhere, I think it may have just been the strobe light reflecting from something. Definitely the passengers over reacting. Also, I don't doubt that the landing was rough and faster than usual, but again, overreacting. I only wish there was an av-geek or someone who knows their stuff on each flight to tell how it actually happened.

I am a firm believer in the fact that we should be able to use our electronics in flight. It is a bit annoying to have your game or book interrupted, but it's not the end of the world. I can live without electronics, I go camping all the time and we instill an electric free camping policy, still I'm glad that we can finally use electronics on takeoff. It's more of proving the fact that electronics are completely safe than anything for me, but I still see all sorts of arguments arising from this. Now that we can use our devices, alot of safety problems will arise, like the cellphone turning into a 200mph projectile when the gear collapses (cough cough Southwest cough),or nobody knowing what to do when an emergency happens(not like everyone panics and forgets all order in the first place). Things like that are going to be all too common and maybe someone will be stupid enough to form a lawsuit over it. Then the media gets involved and the original rule banning electronics on takeoff and l

I think Jet packs are amazing, but it's another thing to watchout for in the sky. Get too many idiots in these and mid air collisions will skyrocket. now let us figure out who has right of way.

Time to scrap reliable, trustworthy, flying tanks for new, shiny toys that aren't nearly as useful. The A-10 is meant to provide close air support and be heavily armored. Low, slow, and makes big boom. The F-35, if I'm correct, is a kinda of hybrid, trying to combine Air-to-air from the F-15 and Air-to-ground from the A-10 in one jet. The result, something that does the job not as well as the original.
