Quite a few of the reports indicate "loss of oil pressure". From what I've heard, but not experienced, is that the oil you're losing usually ends up directly in front of your face, obscuring vision. I'd love to see a photo of the windshield to see if this occurred here as well.
Picture #16 in the first set, showing an Aeroflot jet... more Russians defected at Gander than you would guess. The flights would be headed to Cuba, and stop for refueling. After a while, an RCMP officer would be stationed at the airport when these jets landed, just for the purpose of receiving the defectors.
"Kieffer says they will review the incident and make any changes necessary in order to prevent it from happening again."
Like making sure the elk is really sedated and not faking it... (also, not landing next to any elk)
