This has to have been many many years ago.....F/As can't access the cockpit at any time they want. They have to call, get someone inside to unlock the door and then enter. As for the CA ditching the plane with PAX still on board....he is just a coward.

Hey don't worry.....this bunch of crazies just offered to give the pilots 300% pay if they will take the trip. Throw the money at them and they will work. Contract talks are still on going but hey, we just do it the USAirways way. The fake bankruptcy and the takeover by the Pheonix group has ruined a once wonderful company. Glad I got out with 40 years of service to the Legacy American Airlines.

I'd hate to have a baby in the nasty bathroom of ANY airplane. That said, maybe this baby came early? I think, if memory serves me, you could fly up to 8.5 months. Again, if the agent didn't ask, (and some wouldn't for fear of insulting the person), there is no way to prove the person is telling the truth. When we flew from Dominica to JFK we always were mentally prepared to deliver babies as the women wanted to have the baby in the US....anchor baby...and then they'd be able to stay. They flew out at 9+months and simply were thought of as fat women.

So we HAVE to wear the damn mask whilst in the tube. Once you get to your DESTINATION city TAKE THE MASK OFF and walk out of the terminal.....wanna bet no one challenges you? And if they do tell them you are leaving....they'll leave you alone. This is the dumbest thing. I take peanuts aboard and eat them one at a time for the duration of the 2 hour flight. As I say, this is not a life saver on the plane.

whenever you get to your destination, simply take the mask off......what are they gonna do? Take you out of the airport? you are at your destination, just take it off and Wal out of the place.

As a retired Stewardess I feel sorry for the F/As today having to be mask police rather than being the safety specialists they were trained to be. Southwest is the fun airline and if these crewmembers think it is time......I hope it is. The mask is an illusion. I also advocate the silliness of them now that this virus is in control. Hope you kid has a long and fun career as I did for 44 years.

I totally remember 3 guys in the cockpit.....I flew from 1969 to 2009. I also flew with the first woman pilot, Bonny Terbusi and then the first Captain, Beverly Bass. As for no pilots in the pit.....doubt I'd feel really comfortable with that.

Gosh, I remember this accident vividly as I too was at DCA that day. It really stuck with me that any ice while sometimes not visible could be deadly. Many year after this I was In LHR and it was snowing. We were to fly off to JFK at 1730. The snow was so bad that only 45 of our 186 passengers were on the plane and we were watching to see when we would be de-iced. Our CA said they'd have someone use a broom to get the"stuff" off the wings. I asked if he really thought that was a good idea and wouldn't the glycol spraying be better. He said we'd have to wait for over 2 hours if we wanted to get deiced. I told him that was fine, we only had a few passengers and we'd just take care of them on the ground with drinks and snacks. He said he really didn't want to wait and he was going to just taxi really fast and it should blow the ice off. I reminded him of this very accident and he said its was ok, he'd was in charge of this plane. I was not a happy person. I told him if he chose

Had a lovely tour and dinner at Pima last November. When we sat among the aircraft we remembered flying some of them and we still marvel at how we were the luckiest people to have had such amazing careers. Thanks for sharing this story.
