Lessor repossesses bankrupt Avianca Brazil’s A320s
Avianca Brazil has been forced to make more flight cancellations after lessor Aircastle reclaimed all 10 of its Airbus A320-200s on lease to the carrier, cutting the insolvent operator's fleet by 30%. Avianca should have been gone long ago. Instead they merge with TACA (to save themselves) and draw them down also.
Avianca Colombia, and Avianca TACA/Lacsa are profitable. There is/was too much established competition from already established airlines in Brazil, and to the United States from the United states.
