2 of America's Favorite Airlines Are Increasing Fees

提交時間:

The last couple of years have not been kind to JetBlue Airways (NASDAQ: JBLU) and Alaska Air Group (NYSE: ALK). Rising fuel prices have pinched profitability across the U.S. airline industry, but due to competitive dynamics and other factors, JetBlue and Alaska have had more trouble offsetting these cost headwinds than some other carriers. Both airlines have tried to get profitability back on track through a combination of cost discipline and tactical capacity adjustments. However, it… (www.yahoo.com) 更多...

I wanna see the data that they used that says these are to of America's favorite airlines. They are not even in my top 5.

Maybe read more than the headline then? It's in the article, the ranking comes from the J.D. Power North America Airline Satisfaction Study

Favorites is debatable. Either cutting expenses or raising fees/fares is not.

My experience with JetBlue has been somewhat limited. No complaints, but not superlative, as I recall. Alaska has been my airline of choice for the last 10 years. I am a member of their FF program and have been super pleased with their rewards, their definite customer first attitude and their cooperative agreements. Just last year I used about 10% of my accumulated miles to fly on a partner airline, Air France, from NY to Rome and back, Because I wasn't able to get First Class on the return, the FF representative suggested and booked my return with a 4 day stay in Paris, so that I could fly First the entire way. My prior experience with Delta is like comparing a Yugo to a Ferrari. I ran from Delta to Alaska and have never looked back I will live with the fee increases, as the exist, but doubt they will impact me much, since I usually fly in Business/First for any flight over 2 hours.

Kind of like Ted Bundy and Jeffrey Dahmer being your 2 favorite neighbors.

O.K. Forrest, where did you come up with that little piece of depravity to parable airline competition. Civility is a dying art. Mostly from the losers!

And the degradation of the flying experience continues. It's all about fees and perks now. No more is the passenger central. We are just cattle now.

You are right. But the airlines are now the bus system. Looking backward to the service of old is over. Either hold your nose and bear it or find an alternative. I beat it occasionally but mostly drive or fly my own plane.
