(Video) Airplane nearly hit skydiver
Description form Youtube: After an uneventful exit.... The pilot dove the airplane 180 degrees right at me and my tandem passenger. how we got so lucky?!?! Not sure. I have never heard of this happening. After some research and talking to friends about it I now know of two other incidents like this. One is on you tube and he did not get as lucky as we did.... That moronic stunt is not a common practice among jump pilots, but it does take place occasionally. As a skydiver of 30 years, it pisses me off every time I see, or hear of it. At least this was on video so now the FAA can hammer that imbecile, and see to it he doesn't even so much as fly a kite in the future.
The FAA wouldn't put up with this at all. His ticket would be yanked as soon as the FSDO figured out who it was. Unfortunately, that tail number is registered in Thailand, and we're all familiar with southeast Asia's aviation safety record.
500 skydives and I never came near the plane I jumped out of, but I did get a little nervous one time seeing a Dash-8 a couple thousand feet below me.

After that wonder what the skydiver did to the pilot? Think a baseball bat would have been in order.
I agree; I have occasionally seen it within the last 35 years (always in turbine aircraft with beta mode props) both from free fall and while under canopy IN THE US! Never up close like that, but close enough to really scare me. I can only hope that the pilots who do this crap to gain "cool" points and/or save time to try to pack more loads in on an insanely busy day get what they deserve some day BEFORE they kill someone. That tape is literally a matter of inches...

After an uneventful exit, a tandem skydiving pair make an unexpected close encounter with the very same airplane they jumped out of. So close was the collision that the reserve parachute was needed and most likely a new pair of pants as well.
