I guess the 787 will eventually wind up as OK but I don't think it will ever be the success that Boeing has planned for it. Between it and the 777X program, it kinda reminds me of Microsoft and it's launching VISTA. So many problems and outright revolt from a lot of MX users; then along came WINDOWS LIGHT and/or 7 and everybody kinda forgot VISTA like a bad dream. I wonder if the 787 doesn't fall to the same reasoning.
Using that thought process, perhaps you are right. There seems to have been an effect that has shown something here, this between the 787 and the "rush" to 777X. My toes still crossed however for her to be a succesful platform for the industry.
