Flight of Honor

提交時間:

I did not see this posted last year and if so, I apologize to any of the the hall monitors that might have their sensitivities insulted. For the rest of us, a thank you to the pilots and crews that pulled off this tribute hoping that some of you participate in this forum. As for budget cut excuse, dropping on golf game on the Obama Taxi would pay for a lot of funeral tributes. (www.youtube.com) 更多...

This was posted on Facebook earlier today as far as the picture but the link would not open. From a USAF vet, thanks for posting.

I couldn't open it from there either, but it seemed worthwhile following the link to YouTube. I am surprised it didn't get posted last April when the funeral took place.

As long as it took to bring them home, a few more months here don't matter; it was still nice.

that Angel Flight I did last year was on of the most moving things I have ever been involved in. I can appreciate how those pilots and family must have felt.

Personally I suspect it means more to have contemporaries of the victims volunteer to honor the dead than to have a government scripted exercise.

I am glad you are involved in the Angel Flight effort. Each assignment will leave a positive mark in your psychic, a particularly large mark when the patient is a child. Thanx.

Well, I just did that one. We took the 767 and an honor guard from FSM to Dover and back. Local boy with the 188th and being from a prominent family at FSM. Boss volunteered the plane and family requested me as he worked for me awhile Killed in Afghanistan. We had a flight of A10's pick us up over North Arkansas and come over the top of us in missing man as we were on final. Big crowd at the 188th hangar for funeral. Came right up to hangar and Honor guard took him inside. talk about doodads on your back as those hogs came over the top. Hard to concentrate on landing a plane.

God I hate to see American patriots pay the price for politicians' whims. If nothing else I thought we learned a lesson in RVN. These military people deserve all the citizens and government can give.

My personal feeling on that whole mess over there, and most folks have forgot, is that we went in there in the 1st place for the sole purpose of getting BinLaden. It lost momentum when GW detoured us thru Iraq to help avenge daddy, and we finally got BinLaden. Let's come home. If they would have stayed on mission, they'd have got BinLaden before Tommy Franks retired and we'd have already been out. As in 'Nam, those people been fighting each other forever and we will not change it. Besides that, they are really giving us the finger now anyway. Screw 'em

Everyone who has gone in there overlooked that it never was a country, just an area the 18th & 19th century empires drew a line around and gave it a name.

Well, the mighty USSR lost their shirt, tucked tail & left. We came in and got the Taliban, missed Bin Laden, but finally got him. Now that Karsi is getting contrary, let's come home. I can't see that we owe them a dang thing and we have buried a bunch of fine young men, and maimed a bunch of others, while Obama plays golf and can't decide on what club to use, let alone make a major decision of that type.

I second that. On top of that we only dented the terrorist network. Reports are that it is bigger than ever. We proved a point but changed nothing. Let the jackasses kill each other.
