How about ATC gets a system that actually works and then we'll talk fees.

I am of the opinion the gov does not need another fee or tax for any purpose what so ever! Work with what you got, period.

Woah! An idea that makes little sense, is vague, and is open to interpretation! When did the government start making those!?! *sarcasm intended*

It just makes me ill to read such a poorly written WH response. That lame response really does show us the intelligence factor (or lack thereof) at work in these fees. It took me 90 seconds of research to see the difference in the fuel taxes confirmed in the AOPA article. You would think the WH has these resources too. What a halfassed halfcocked halfthought response to 8904 citizens' petition.

Lame has become the new standard.

The response says that this fee would reduce the budget deficit by $10 billion over 10 years. The debt increases by FOUR BILLION DOLLARS every DAY.

The plane is crashing but they have yet to declare an emergency.

This fits right in with their class-warfare rhetoric. Obviously, every person that flies an airplane MUST be one of those "evil" rich guys. If someone in the WH actually had a clue, they'd understand why user-fees will be crippling to the GA community.

Added cost for student pilots is not a good thing for pilot population
