Using photocopy ID in Indonesia

I'm just putting this placeholder link because I'm reporting this myself -- I recently visited Indonesia, and one of my aunts says that she always uses a photocopy of her ID instead of the real thing, to present at the airport for domestic flights. I traveled with her on a major inter-island flight (Jakarta to Sulawesi island on Garuda, considered the safest domestic airline) and witnessed it myself.
