how could the Aeroperu 757 flightcrew not complete the customary walk around, then in that process remove the pitot tube covers? fully preventable incident here.
A tape that was close to the color of the airplane livery was used to hold the plastic covering over the static ports, along with no streamer utilized from the cover.
