Boeing to hold airline call on 737 MAX systems after Indonesia crash

提交時間:

Boeing Co (BA.N) plans to hold a conference call with airlines on Tuesday morning to discuss systems on the 737 MAX model that crashed in Indonesia last month, according to four sources with familiar with the matter. A Lion Air Boeing 737 MAX crashed in the Java Sea on Oct. 29, killing all 189 people on board, in the first major accident involving the latest version of its popular narrow-body plane. After the crash, the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration warned airlines that erroneous inputs… (finance.yahoo.com) 更多...

In my opinion, this is a major do-do on part of Boeing. The MCAS was a major change to OP's. AT MINIMUM this should have been plastered all over the manuals. In a situation such as this the cockpit has their hands full trying to determine what, why, how is happening. Even a simple note "POP the circuit breaker to disengage or over ride". Other opinion is why is a "prevent stall software change" even necessary. By the time I'm in the left seat I should have a pretty darn good idea how not to stall my 737? Doesn't seem like Boeing had a real discussion about implementing this change. Maybe we're all classified as dumb dumbs?

Over Thanksgiving I was in the company of two senior flight attendants with one our major carriers. A conversation came up about flying with ex-military pilots. A passenger had made the statement to one the he didn’t like riding with a guy that “learned to fly F15’s”.

We a were in agreement that military learns to fly real aircraft, not sims. Electronics are aids to flying not command systems.
What is the consensus that the Indonesian pilots were depending on the system not their flying “skills”.
The latest Black Box info shows the crew “fought” the anti-stall system rather than shutting it down.
Just asking???

This may or may not be correct but I read that Thales made the AOA/Stall warning system for the Max. I have NOT verified.
