Air Canada named Best Airline in North America at the Skytrax World Airline Awards 2018

This rating is little short of a travesty. It's an indication of the low bar set by the North American airline industry.
YUp totally in line with Air Transat "award".. new equipment is the plus...the rest? Same old..small seats, pay as you play, undisclosed route stops, and often surly and unhappy cabin crew out of Montreal. You nailed it at "low bar".
Anyone who has ever used Air Canada will laugh at the suggestion that they are best airline. Their slogan is "We're not happy until you're not happy". Over taxed and excessive user fees. When I fly I try to use anyone other than Air Canada.
Totally... just another silly "award" by award companies that are set up to make money on the process. AC is one of the worst..wait on line for a human....totally inflexible and in many cases downright user abusive. Ok good planes competent flight decks... the rest?Nope
To be fair, the excessive taxes and user fees cannot be blamed on Air Canada. Blame a money-grabbing Canadian government and certain airports, Toronto Pearson in particular.

And this after shutting down Tokyo Airport because a pilot went on the wrong taxiway. And after an AC plane tried to land on a taxiway with planes on it at San Francisco. If this is the best I'd hate to see the rest!!

Just try Air Canada - you'll be laughing at this award - they fall well short of customer service.
I don't know how they do it. Their onboard product is deplorable, their food/beverage service is meagre, their staff are often curt if not rude, and they are the worst of the airlines that I fly every month in North America (United, AA, Delta, Alaska). I will do anything to avoid them.

They must get everybody in the company to vote.

MY experience with uS Co's are not good as AirCanada. I fly every 1 or 2 weeks.

Air Canada has better seats, better services and screens. Wifi works perfect.

That Air Canada is superior to the US airlines is nothing to be proud of, considering the low levels of service they provide. I avoid North American airlines whenever I get the chance, which, unfortunately, is not that often.


There is no need to shout. You are welcome to have your own opinion but so is everybody else.

How could Air Canada win this award? They have the worst customer service of any airline I have ever flown and I have flown some crappy 3rd world airlines. This award must be a satire award.
From a global perspective, being rated best in North America is like being best in a consolation round. SPIN SPIN SPIN. Having flown pretty well all majors in North America, same sh*t, just different flavors.
