With all the available technology, it would appear a clever pilot can beat the system

Looks like a PDF of the log is included among the various files the Malaysian Govt. has posted at this link:

Where is Boeing?

I may be totally naive on this subject, but "where is Boeing" to me, is like asking "where is General Motors" if a Cadillac disappears. I realize the difference in scale, but - still...why should Boeing be involved?

BUT, you are talking about an airplane that has a cost of almost a third of a billion dollars($320,000,000), plus Boeing has their people at every Boeing crash site. Just my opinion.

BUT, there is no crash site.

I meant but forgot to say that 'when' they do find the aircraft Boeing people will be there along with the people from the engine manufacturer. IF I am wrong someone correct me.

This MH370 aircraft was found the day after it was reported missing!
Viet Nam found the tail section & cabin door.
China supplied satellite photos of the plane.
Since then it has reported on other news that it was shot down!
You want the Truth? Handle this: YouTube: Lauren Moret & MH370.
This aircraft was not missing more than 24 hrs!
The real query is WHY all the BS?

Why not wait until next year?

So Anwar Ibrahim, Malaysian Opposition Leader, found guilty yet again of sodomy charges & jailed on 7 March. What should have been major news in the run-up to contested Malaysian elections has been wiped out of the news by the loss of an airliner. Not that I'm a believer in conspiracy, however ......

Before pundits get into wasted comments & speculation, here is a fact to digest: Every country in the world that has sophisticated satellites (China, Russia, India, USA, Israel, France, UK) had as much as 7 hours to have their satellite moved into position to watch the progress of MH370. Any of these satellites can read the writing on a dime laying on the ground, so it is ridiculous to believe that someone wasn't watching the entire scenario unfold. Somebody knows, but must remain silent to 1. protect their spying capabability and 2. to await the further scenario of this missing airplane.

Rather dogmatic in your "factual" assertions as to capabilities of spy sat resources. Are you really that much of an authority on the subject of spy sats and how they can or cannot be redirected. Obviously not "every country" has them as you limit your list to only 7 such countries in which with exception of the super powers such capabilities are rare if they exist at all. Visual observations of a nighttime commerical transport from a spy sat? Really? How, via some sort of IR signature tracking? The limited electronic data signals were already being received and registered which is what this release is about. You give the impression of being one of those "pundits" who is "wasting comments & speculation" of which unfortunately there is no shortage with respect to this story.

Ridiculous Thinking. By the time it was realized that it was truly missing and not just a communications failure it would have already been out of fuel. The most likely scenario is a total electrical failure on the flight deck with rendered the transponders, communications and NAVIGATION system inoperable. The pilots were desperately trying to find land and an airport in the dark of night with no navigation systems.

IT S QUITE WEIRD THAT AT THIS POINT OF HIGH TECHNOLOGY PROGRESS, A HUGE PLANE JUST DISAPPEARS. I FEEL THAT THERE IS A DARK MATTER IN THE CASE WHICH BY SOME REASON IS BEING HIDDEN, IT WAS NOT A PIPER CUB OR GLIDER. IT IS MORE, THE AREA IS FULL OF COMMERCIAL PLANES DAY AND NIGHT WITH MANY CHECK POINTS AND NAVIGATION AIDS
