A Boeing 737 over Florida declared an emergency incident after its engine shut down mid-flight.

The passenger plane took off from Santa Clara, Cuba and was en route to Toronto, Canada.

It declared an emergency just north of Daytona Beach and is was diverted to Orlando after one of its engines stopped working.

The plane, a Canadian registered Air Transat Boeing 737-8Q8 – flight number TS691, is believed to have landed safely around 6.30pm GMT.

It's believed there are over 150 passengers and 6 crew on board.
