Serge, N188AT was de-registered in 2006,with the reason given as "destroyed."
ATA Airlines ceased operations in 2008. On November 19, 2008, Southwest Airlines announced their intent to acquire the remaining assets of ATA Airlines. Southwest specifically stated their bid "doesn't include any aircraft, facilities or employees of ATA." (Source: Wikipedia)

Nice picture John! Too bad MacDac beat Lockheed to market... the 1011 is a better airplane than the DC-10.

Maybe at that time, this plane was better than the DC-10, but I like the profile of the DC-10 much better. The tail motor of the DC-10 makes me much more aesthetic than that of this TriStar

" The tail motor of the DC-10 makes me much more aesthetic than that of this TriStar" ?? The -10 tail motor was suspended w/o support from the fuselage and thus clearly less stable :sigh:

There were economic problems which killed the L1011 even though it were a superior airframe.
