I am going to take a big leap here and assume the wire basket on the left side is for skis.

That's right Paul, the baskets are usually used for skis. But you can also transport all other types of luggage in it.

Interesting... the EC-130s I worked with had fixed wings and four engines....

@Mark Henley: if you send a real Lockheed EC-130 to this place, I will be there the whole day to do the same pictures with an other plane :-)
So we had the Jedi Transition in the swiss alps!
