SUD-EST SE-210 Caravelle (F-BHRB)

Shown here is a 1961 Air France Caravelle III which was the first commercial aircraft with twin jet engines mounted at the rear of the fuselage establishing a clean wing design configuration that is still used by smaller jetliners today. Along with a ventral airstair the aircraft held up to 94 passengers with seating for 12 in first class and 74 seats in economy or it could be configured for all econimy seating up to 94. It was first produced in 1959 and withdrawn from service in 1978. Air France monogrammed there Caravelle's and this aircraft was named "Lorraine". United Airlines ordered 20 of these for there fleet back then.
