yes he did -- engine out on takeoff from maintenance service and repairs. Afraid his ship was totaled even though he walked away.

While up in a steerman with a friend we hooked up with a PT-22 a lot like this one. We formed up and flew formation for a while before he peeled off and went to Parts unknown. Cool experience.
