The world's largest passenger aircraft is now flying the world's longest route after Qantas replaced its Boeing 747s with Airbus A380 superjumbos on the Sydney-Dallas route. This was not unanticipated, but when did DFW become qualified for the 380? I knew they were in process but I apparently have missed somehthing. Was this the inaugural flight?

DFW qualified Sept.2014..first flight in was Quantas on Sept 29th early afternoon..second in was Emirates on Oct.1 early morning..both are being served out of terminal D

An impressive technical aviation achievement and useful for some, but I would go insane. Even the 7+ hours YYZ - LHR overnight tests my limit.

These flights can work if passengers were advised correctly as to handle the journey.

The flight and cabin crew are trained and equipped for these trips so why not get tickets sold on an understanding that the flight will be tough and the airline make clear the flight regime will be challenging for their benefit.

It took me 5 days to recover from Colombo to London because the cabin crew operated on Colombo clocks and a great flight was ruined.

I believe a small number of management tweaks or a small number of manager changes can solve many long haul gripes!
